Dr Belinda Goldsworthy has more than 12 years’ experience in the contaminated sites industry, specialising in human health and ecological risk assessment. Belinda has undertaken work involving a wide range of chemicals across Australia, New Zealand and Asia (including Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and Pakistan), creating cost-effective solutions for both government and private industry clients. Belinda has worked with the Australian and Hong Kong governments to develop country-specific soil and groundwater target levels for a variety of land uses. She has co-presented several human health and ecological risk assessment workshops in Australia (in conjunction with the Australian College of Toxicology and Risk Assessment) and Asia for health and environmental regulators, the Australian Defence Force, external consultants and colleagues. Prior to joining the consulting industry Belinda spent five years with the Australian Antarctic Division investigating the ecological and toxicological impacts to Australian and Antarctic benthic communities caused by a variety of metal and hydrocarbon contaminants, utilizing both in situ manipulative experiments and laboratory experiments.
