Ramboll Environ’s Pieter Booth co-authors paper in Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management

Pieter Booth co-authored “Modeling aesthetics to support an ecosystem services approach for natural resource management decision making,” which is now available online.

Pieter’s paper, titled “Modeling aesthetics to support an ecosystem services approach for natural resource management decision making,” presents a method for quantifying relative changes in aesthetic value (nonmonetary) resulting from land management decisions as part of larger ecosystem services assessments, and thus offers an avenue for better informed and more holistic decision-making. According to Pieter, these findings would be of most interest to natural resource managers, who have long struggled to quantitatively assess the impact of decisions on intangible values such as aesthetics.

IEAM is devoted to bridging the gap between scientific research and the application of science in decision making, policy and regulation, and environmental management. The journal is published by the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC).
