The IEA, which has more than 1,000 members across 100 different countries, aims to facilitate communication between epidemiology researchers and educators on a global scale, and to encourage the use of epidemiology in all fields of health including social, community and preventative medicine. These aims are achieved by holding scientific meetings and seminars, by providing opportunities for networking by scientists and policymakers from around the globe, and by publishing journals, reports and monographs, among other activities.
